Horse Portrait

FAQ: Do you paint backgrounds to the horse portraits, or do you focus purely on the subject?

Answer: Horse portraits are usually commissioned as head and shoulder studies, and can be painted with or without a background. To create the background for the above portrait, I used another photo that the customer supplied as a reference. I then combined this with the photo of the horse to complete the portrait.
