Julie Palmer B.A. (Hons) is a T.V. commissioned artist who creates beautiful portraits of your dog, horse, cat, or other loved one in pastels. Working from photographs, paintings can be ordered via the internet and delivered to Sunderland and the surrounding area, usually within three weeks of ordering.

There are a range of options available for dog portraits. It's possible to commission a head and shoulders work on a plain background, or order a more complex portrait depicting the dog in full body, and with scenery in the background. Portraits can be single studies, or depict a number of dogs together. Julie can also work from different photos of your dogs and bring them all together in one work.

The portrait on the left is of a beautiful Rottweiler dog, and is 24" by 18" in size.

Here you can see the original photo that Julie was supplied with. Notice how the dog's left arm has been moved so that it appears in a more natural pose.

 
 

Horse Portraits can be commissioned as head and shoulders studies, and work best at 16" by 12" (or larger).

There are three different background options for horse portraits - plain, atmospheric and scenic. (The horse painting on the right has a scenic background). It's possible to find out more about ordering a horse portrait at this page.

 

Sending photos of your animal to Julie:-

Photos can be sent via email or through the post. If you like, you can send the photos before ordering for Julie to comment on their suitability and give you an idea which ones might work to create a portrait from.

 

 

 
 
Cat portraits can be head and shoulder studies or full body works. Normally cats are best at 12" by 10" as head and shoulders, and 16" by 12" as full body portraits. To find out more about commissioning a cat portrait from Julie, please visit this page.
