We are both enthralled with the detail of the portrait and cannot express our pleasure enough to convey the time and effort that it must have taken to complete such an exceptional piece of art.

(My friend) was overwhelmed and cried, we both did. It is a fantastic picture and will be treasured for ever. Thank you again for making her birthday so special.

Beautiful Rottweiler Dog Portrait

Dog Portraits

There are a range of options when commissioning a dog portrait. My most popular choice is a head and shoulders portrait, either at 12” by 9” or 16” by 12”. There is also the possibility of creating larger full body studies, and I usually undertake these at sizes between 16” by 12” to 24” by 18”. It’s also possible to add scenic backgrounds to the work. You can see more examples of my dog portraits by clicking here.

Other Animals

Over the years, I’ve created portraits of several other subjects including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, parrots, and even hamsters! As can be seen in this guinea pig portrait, owners often ask for a special feature to be including, such as favourite feeding bowl or cushion. As the size of each animal can vary hugely, it’s usually best to contact me first and then I can advise on the appropriate dimensions for the work. You can see some more of my animal portraits here.

Horse Portraits

I usually undertake horse portraits at 16” by 12” or 18” by 12” as head and neck studies, and these can be painted on a plain backdrop or with a background scene chosen by the owner. It’s also possible to remove items such as bridles and harnesses (even if these are in the original photos). A horse’s coat can often change colour during the seasons, and so I will often ask for a photo that best represents their colour. You can see more examples of my horse commissions here.
