Hi Julie, took the picture of kai to the framers and all said how beautiful it was! Gave it to my friend and she can't get over it...Best gift she has ever had!

I want to say that the portrait of Ross is all that I could have wanted, and the background is very appropriate to him as well. You really captured the essence of Ross (how you do that without meeting the dog I don't know), but I am certain that my husband will be thrilled when he receives it on his birthday…

Well today was the day we unveiled the portrait of Ralph and Arnie and what a special moment it was! We were lost for words at how amazing it is and my Mum burst into tears when she saw it! Not only is every detail there in both of the boys, you have also captured their personality and character right down to the look in their eyes! It really is beautiful.

German Shepherd Dog Portrait

Dog Portraits

I offer a variety of options when commissioning a dog portrait, from small head and shoulder portraits, to more large scale full body works, like the one of this German Shepherd. It’s also possible to add a background scene to painting, such as a favourite walking area or garden view. Two or more dogs can be also be brought together (from several different photos and eras) to create group portraits of your pets. Click here to see more examples.

Horse Portraits

I usually undertake horse portraits at 16” by 12” or 18” by 14” as head and neck studies, and these can be painted on a plain backdrop or with a background scene chosen by the owner. It’s also possible to remove items such as bridles and harnesses (even if these are in the original photos). A horse’s coat can often change colour during the seasons, and so I will often ask for a photo that best represents their colour. You can see more examples of my horse commissions here.

Other Amimals

Over the years, I’ve created portraits of several other animals including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, parrots, and even hamsters! As can be seen in this guinea pig portrait, owners often ask for a special feature to be including, such as favourite feeding bowl or cushion. As the size of each animal can vary hugely, it’s usually best to contact me first and then I can advise on the appropriate dimensions for the work. You can see some more of my animal portraits here.
