The picture is absolutely brilliant and will certainly stir some tears on Christmas Day! My late father used to draw caricatures and always said “it’s always in the eyes” that create any telling personality; which you have captured Izzy perfectly! Thanks very much for a great piece of work.

Thank you so much for your beautiful, touching portrait of Maddy. It was sad to think we had so few photos of her, but thanks to you we will now have something wonderful to remember her by.

Just thought I'd let you know that Paul absolutely loves the portrait you did of Casper and Jet, it's Pauls birthday today and it's already up on the wall, in fact he loves it that much it's taken pride of place in the lounge.

Dog Portraits

All my dog portraits are painted in pastels, a media that famous artists such as Degas have used to create remarkably animated portraits. I love this media because it allows me to capture fine details and create movement within the work. Dog portrait sizes begin at 12” by 9” (as head and shoulders works) and can be as large as 24” by 18” for full body studies or group portraits. Cat Portraits

As with all my works, I use pastels when creating my portraits, and I find this media works especially well for capturing the details found in the cat’s hairs and eyes. For portrait size, cats usually work best at 12” by 9” for head and shoulder works and 16” by 12” (or 18” by 14”) if a full body portrait would be preferred. You can see more examples of my cat portraits here, including group works and ones with scenic backgrounds.

3 Horses

Horse Portraits

For horse portraits, I create them as head and neck studies in a range of different sizes, the most popular being 16” by 12” and 18” by 14”. As in the example here, its also possible to bring a number of horses together into one portrait, perhaps even creating a work with different generations or horses you have owned over the years. You can view more horse portraits by clicking here.
