Dog Portraits
There are so many wonderful breeds of dog, each with their own distinctive features and characteristics. If you are considering a classic head and shoulders study, the recommended size of a portrait will mirror the size of the breed, starting with 8” by 10” for miniature dogs and rising to 20” by 15” for large ones. For a more creative study with a scenic or interior background, I would suggest you email me your photos with an outline of your preferences so I can create something bespoke to fit your requirements. Cat Portraits
Cat portraits, like all my commissions, usually take about a month from ordering to completion. When you email me, please do include a small selection of photos of your pet, and then I can advise you on which one I think will work best for the painting. Generally speaking cat portraits work best at the smaller sizes of 10" by 8" or 12" by 9" for head and shoulder works.
Horse Portraits
Horses have a majestic and almost mythical feel to them. The size and stature of these amazing animals requires a different approach artistically to that of domestic pets. I always recommend a head and neck study as a full body work requires too large a paper size to be able to hang in most homes. By focusing on these important features it is possible convey their unique qualities in full grace and grandeur. Click here to discover some of my previous horse commissions.
