Dog Portraits
A pastel portrait of your beloved dog is a wonderful way to capture their personality and beauty. I work in a range of sizes from 10" by 8" (for small "toy" breeds) right up to 24" by 18" (for group portraits). Dogs can be depicted as head and shoulder studies or seen full body. There is also the option of adding a scenic background, and special features such as their collar & tag. Click here to see more examples of dog portraits.
Cat Portraits
In terms of size, a cat portrait will work well at my smaller sizes of 10" by 8" and 12" by 9" (as head and shoulder studies). Full body paintings are usually undertaken at 16" by 12" and occasionally 18" by 14" (for works with backgrounds such a favourite garden spot or their comfy armchair). It's usually best to send me a number of photos so I can get a feel for their character and looks. You can see more examples of my cat portraits here.
Horse Portraits
The starting size for a horse portrait is 16" by 12" inches and the optimum size is 18" by 14", if you have a wall with sufficient space to accomodate it (bear in mind that a pastel portrait needs to be framed with a mount behind glass). I can work to your requirements for the portrait, including whether you would like to see the bridle in the work and how you would like the mane to look.
