I have just been given the portrait of Brig the collie you did for my birthday, and it is wonderful, I feel you have captured his personality, and it's as if he is in the room with me.

I received my portrait of Angel today.... it was like she was still here with me. I looked at her and just cried. You really captured her beauty and spirit.

I received the portrait today. For the first time in my life words failed me. I don't know what to say, it's absolutely stunning. You have captured the life, soul and character of each dog.

As I work from my studio at home, I can still continue to create portraits to order via the post during the coronavirus pandemic. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks from ordering, and be aware of these new Royal Mail social distancing rules when receiving your work.

Pet Portraits

In a career spanning over two decades, TV commissioned artist Julie Palmer (B.A. Hons) has received hundreds of orders from across the world to create beautiful portraits of people's pets. In each work her goal is clear, to lovingly capture the beauty and emotion of each dog, horse or subject she undertakes.

With the wonders of the web, pet portraits can be ordered regardless of the distance involved.

Cocker Spaniels

Dog Portraits

Dog Portraits can be head and shoulder studies on a plain background, or more eleborate full body works with scenic backdrops. I also undertake group paintings of dogs from photos. In this Cocker Spaniel portrait, the owner specifically asked for the dogs be depicted in their walking area. To give a more pleasing composition, I created a horizon line with hills and blue sky in the distance. Click here to see more dog portraits.

3 Horses

Horse Portraits

Horse Portraits like my other animal paintings, are worked on from photographs supplied by the customer.

Horses can be depicted on plain, scenic or atmospheric backgrounds. Here the customer requested an atmospheric one. Click here to find out more about my horse portraits.

2 Black and White Cats

Cat Portraits

Cat portraits can be head and shoulder works or full body studies. In terms of size, I recommend a 12" by 9" for a head and shoulders work and 16" by 12" or 18" by 14" for a full body portrait. It's possible to bring together cats from different photos to create group portraits, like in this example. Click here to view more previous commissions and find out more about my cat portraits.
