Beagle Portraits & Paintings
Beagles are full of warmth and personality, with their soft, expressive eyes and distinctive markings making them a particularly engaging subject for portraiture. Their gentle nature and inquisitive expressions often shine through in even the simplest pose, and it is these small details that bring a portrait to life.
From classic tri-colour coats to lighter bi-colour variations and playful puppies, each Beagle has its own unique charm. Capturing that individuality in both portrait drawings and pastel paintings is always at the heart of my work.
Tri Colour Beagle Portrait
This alert little Beagle named Dexter was such a lovely subject to work on. I tried to capture that bright, curious expression Beagles are so well known for — ears slightly lifted, eyes focused, as if he’s just caught an interesting scent on the breeze! In this painting, I focused on carefully balancing the rich combination of black, tan and white that is so characteristic of the tri colour Beagle.
Beagle Portrait with Collar Detail
Tilly’s portrait includes her collar and tag, which adds a lovely personal touch to the artwork.
Including features such as collars, tags, bandanas or even favourite toys can help make a portrait feel even more individual and meaningful. These details are always drawn with care to ensure they complement the portrait rather than distract from it.

Beagle Puppy Portrait
Beagle puppies are full of character, with bright eyes and soft features that make them especially appealing subjects.
In puppy portraits, I often use softer blending and gentle tonal transitions to reflect the texture of their coat and the youthful quality of their expression. These paintings can make particularly special keepsakes as they capture a fleeting stage of life.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your efforts. It's a stunning picture of her and I'm sure my mum will treasure it when I give it to her next month….Thanks for all your help before and during the process - it will be a wonderful, memorable gift for my mum.

Pointer Beagle Cross (Pointergle) Portrait
Crossbreeds such as this Pointer Beagle mix, sometimes affectionately known as a “Pointergle”, can make fascinating portrait subjects.
Molly was such an engaging character to work on - I loved her alert ears and affectionate gaze.
